Auditions for Hale Centre Theatre’s production of “A Christmas Carol”, by Charles Dickens, will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 9:00am to 12 noon with children’s auditions being held from 9am to 10am. These auditions will be by appointment only, and will be held at Hale Centre Theatre, 3333 S. Decker Lake Drive (2200 West), West Valley City UT. It will be directed by John J. Sweeney, with musical direction by Anne Puzey, and choreography by Marilyn May Montgomery. “A Christmas Carol” will run from December 3, 2011 through December 23, 2011.
Except for the role of Scrooge, all roles are open. Needed are men and women who can portray ages from 18 – 70, in addition, there are many roles for children and teens from ages 6 – 17. All auditioners need to come prepared with 16 bars of a song in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Please, no minus tracks. In addition, auditioners should be prepared to read selected lines from the show in authentic British and/or Cockney accent. Dance & scene readings will be at call backs.
The directors have asked each auditioner to bring a photo and resume. Call backs will be by invitation only. All cast members are paid. Character Descriptions and line readings will be available on our website www.halecentretheatre.org.
